Halong Bay- one of the wonders

Our next stop was to Halong Bay, one of the Natural Seven Wonders of the World. The bay is filled with thousands of rock island sticking tall out of the water. Some are only a few feet wide and some are miles long.

Families live on floating fishing villages between the islands.  Here they separate their catch, and prepare them for market.  You can even see the family dog running around floating village chasing fish.

We spent the night on a Junk (boat) in the bay and met lots of fun travelers from all over.

This woman rowed around the bay selling snacks and drinks to the other boats.

Jumping into the bay for some kayaking time. Heading to the caves!

After our night on the boat, we arrived to cast away island. There were fifty of us sharing a few bungalows and enjoying the activities.

About to attempt rock climbing!

View from the top! well, almost the top :)
Halfway there...

We survived!

Breakfast on the island then heading back to Hanoi for another night. The island Claimed one of our wedding bands and left Spencer with a broken toe. Sounds like we need to rub some Buddah bellies for good luck!

$50 luxury. The island was amazing, but a real shower and AC can't be beat!
